Small Group Lesson:
Humans, created in God's image, were designed to work like our Creator God (Genesis 2:2 & John 5:17).

Genesis 2:15 "The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it."

All work done for God is a holy activity. We work as God's agents caring for his creation including people.

Q: How many people does God use to provide you with an apple? Brainstorm a list together (example: farmer, truck driver, truck manufacturer, etc.).
Q: How does God use your work to care for creation?

Colossians 3:23-24 "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."

Q: How can you improve at your work?
Q: What unique challenges and joys exist for Christians in your occupation?

In the sermon, we learned that (1) some worship work, (2) some worship non-work, (3) some worship   (success, money, status, etc.)   through work. Christians should worship God through work.

Q: Which of the above three idols are you prone toward?
Q: How does the truth of the gospel give us better hope and joy in work than the above idols?
